PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This two-day teleconference will combine surgical demonstrations performed live from Lenox Hill Hospital in the morning with lectures by international leaders in our field in the afternoon. The cases will be filmed using High-Definition Television (HDTV) and will be projected using a high-resolution widescreen format at the Equitable Center.
The focus will be placed on the most recent advances in the surgical treatment of Heart Valve and Coronary Artery Diseases, Chronic Atrial Fibrillation and Diseases of the Aorta, with emphasis on the less invasive approaches including percutaneous techniques. A moderating panel will facilitate interaction between the audience and the faculty. Exhibitors will present the latest cardiac surgical techniques.
Program Educational Objectives:
- At the end of the teleconference, participants should be able to understand:
- The indications and surgical aspects of the most advanced aortic and mitral valve repair techniques
- The latest developments in percutaneous catheter-based aortic and mitral valve replacement and repair
- Measure the benefits and limitations in chronic atrial fibrillation techniques and their uses in complex cardiac cases
- Improve the treatment outcomes for patients with coronary artery disease
- Evaluate and implement different techniques for management of the dissected aorta
- Understand and recognize with improved accuracy the management of the high-risk patient

All cancellations must be submitted in writing and refunds will be subject to a $100 administration charge. Cancellations cannot be accepted over the telephone. Refunds will not be available after March 25, 2009.
